Establishment of an Advance Technical Training Centre at Peshawar was the outstanding demand of
employers of the province to produce high tech skilled workers to meet the requirements of the local industries

and to export quality skilled work force to other areas.
The Directorate of Technical Education and Manpower Training, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa placed the demand for
establishment of an advance technical training centre at Peshawar before the Federal Government for
identification of Foreign Donor Agency to pickup financial and technical liabilities of the project. The
Government of People’s Republic of China very kindly agreed to provide financial and technical assistance for the establishment of an Advance Technical Training Centre at Peshawar.
Accordingly, an agreement was signed between the Government of Pakistan and People’s Republic of China. Finally, Government Advance Technical Training Centre (GATTC), Industrial Estate, Hayatabad, Peshawar was established in January 2003. GATTC was completed by the Chinese engineers, technician and skilled workers. GATTC has been operational since 2004, and has been offering grade level I course in four trades and seven (07) CBT courses on regular basis. This is the only available facility in KP that provide opportunities to the pass outs of technical and vocational institutes to further enhance their skills and become compatible with the establishment of an Advance Technical Training Centre at Peshawar. changing technological environment.
